Strolling down Beale Street in downtown Memphis, TN, we missed the vibrant energy of festivals and outdoor blues concerts due to the cold weather. Guess we’ll have to come back to experience the true blues vibe!
The Transformation of Memphis' Waterfront
We must also return to see the new Mississippi Riverfront, which is being reconstructed. However, the completed section provided a beautiful walking area with stunning views of the Mighty Mississippi!
Chills and Hope on MLK Day!
On this MLK Day, we also walked to the Lorraine Motel (now a museum), where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered in 1968. The visit sent chills down my spine, reminding me that the fight for equality for many vulnerable Americans is still needed today, even after 55 years.
