Our Airbnb & Downtown Yacolt

Driving to and Checking-in!

The cottage in Yacolt was warm and welcoming. The owners lived close by; still, we had enough privacy. We enjoyed our new home after unpacking and covering everything with our sheets. Hemmes also settled quickly and seemed to love his new home.

We didn’t go for a walk after unpacking and instead relaxed on the comfortable couch, watching television and enjoying a nice glass of wine.

Grocery Shopping in Yacolt!

After sleeping in, we walked to the local store in Yacolt to get some groceries. The store did not have the fresh produce we wanted, and it was expensive. We only bought a few items and shopped at a more affordable grocery store the next day.

Exploring Downtown Yacolt

After lunch at home, we walked downtown Yacolt to walk some miles and to take pictures of the small town. The main attraction was the heritage railroad, the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad. Due to COVID it was closed.

On our way back, dark clouds were approaching. Thankfully, we were home in time before the rain started pouring down.
In the evening, we went out for dinner. The cottage owners had given us a discount coupon for their restaurant, Backroads, in Yacolt. We enjoyed a simple meal here.
