Our Stay in Greeneville, TN
A Mountain Sanctuary in Greeneville, TN

We arrived just outside Greeneville, Tennessee, and settled into a newly refurbished mountain cabin. Hemmes was happy here. For the first time since last August in Lily, SD, he could safely explore while we relaxed outside. We still watched over him, of course. But during the week, it became clear that Hemmes was no longer an outdoor cat. He often got overwhelmed by all the smells and sounds and couldn’t relax. As soon as he heard a noise, even a distant car, he would run back inside.

After yesterday’s drive, we stayed in, and I only took a brief walk down the dead-end road in the afternoon to stretch my legs.
Eight Miles Worth the View

After the rain cleared, we drove to Tusculum expecting a short, easy walk. Instead, we covered nearly eight miles. The effort was worthwhile, as the trail offered beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, still partially covered by clouds.

Sunset in the Neighborhood

For the first time this week, the evening sky was clear, so I expected a beautiful sunset. I took my camera and walked around the neighborhood, making some pictures. Everything looked lovely in the soft, warm light.

Heading East as The Journey Continues
After another comfortable stay, we left around 1:00 PM. We had asked for and received permission to stay a little longer, since our next stop was only about 2.5 hours away. Leaving was a goodbye to both the cottage and Tennessee as we continued our travels on to North Carolina.
