Our Stay in Lancaster, OH

Trading Naperville's Chill for Lancaster's Spring

Following an enjoyable few weeks with family in chilly Naperville, IL, we headed eastbound just after 8 am Central Time (CT). Just an hour later, we experienced hardly any traffic around Chicago, we crossed into Indiana on I-94 near Lansing.
As the hours and miles passed, we entered Ohio near Monroeville, Indiana, around 1 pm Eastern Time. After eight hours, our 386-mile drive ended. We had arrived at our charming Airbnb in the historic heart of downtown Lancaster, OH, with quaint streets and small-town charm. Thankfully, it feels like spring here!

My Running Trail for the Week in Lancaster

After a good night’s sleep, I went to the trail near the Airbnb. Exploring new trails is always an adventure, but this didn’t disappoint. It was well-maintained, ran alongside the river, and featured viaducts to cross the roads. This will likely be my running and walking trail for the upcoming week.

A Chilly Start at Cenci Lake

Even though it felt like freezing this morning, I returned to Cenci Lake Park for an early walk. This time, I started walking in the opposite direction, following part of the 9.5-mile paved Bike Path or the Fairfield Heritage Trail, a former railbed that winds through Lancaster. Since I was bundled up in layers, I didn’t feel the cold wind and enjoyed my early chilly exercise routine.
