Gouda - Nieuwpoort
At Gouda’s central station, we started the fifth leg (12.35 miles) of the Pilgrimspath.
A towpath through the “green heart” led us to the charming little town of Haastrecht. We continued following the river Vlist on grassy paths to the silver city of Schoonhoven. We crossed the river “Lek” by taking the ferry to Nieuwpoort, today’s final destination.Â
Nieuwpoort is a little Dutch jewel I had never heard of. Here, history has been frozen in time!
