Motel Stopover to California Gems

During our travels, we sometimes crash into hotels for a few nights to visit those must-see spots. That led us to Motel 8 in Soledad, CA, our quiet, clean, and comfy base camp for exploring the few gems in the area. We made visits to Pinnacles National Park twice, the historic Mission San Juan Bautista, and the nearby Mission Soledad, soaking up the California sunshine and Spanish colonial vibes.

In the evenings, we refueled with a delicious dinner at the Windmill Restaurant next door. While our stay here was comfy and convenient, after a few days, my stomach started craving my husband’s home-cooked meals. So, my favorite chef and I were excited to be on our way, the car filled with groceries and fresh produce, to a full kitchen at our next stay in Seaside, CA.
