A Perfect Day Exploring Downtown Austin
Amazing Panoramic City Views
Our Austin visit started at the scenic Colorado River Sidewalk. The weather and temperature were perfect for a long walk through the city. When we crossed the Colorado River via the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge, we got stunning views of the city’s skyline and Lady Bird Lake. Like the turtles sitting on a tree, I soaked up the sun’s warmth!
Stepping Back in Time
We stepped back in time at the Rainy Street Historic District. Surrounded by modern skyscrapers, this district is a charming neighborhood with historic houses, bars, and restaurants. We took a break and enjoyed a drink at Bangers before we headed to 6th Street, a street with bars and restaurants that come alive at night.
Austin is Booming
Downtown Austin’s population boomed by 79% from 2010 to 2020. This growth is not surprising, given that Austin offers a unique combination of nature, nightlife, modern architecture, and rich history. Like me, these new people all must love this part of Austin!
