Florida Farm Life, Cozy Cabins and Organic Farms

Cabin Camping near Lake Panasoffkee
We had a fantastic few days camping at Lake Panasoffkee! It had been ages since we last enjoyed a camping trip. We stayed in a charming, cozy cabin near the lake, just off I-75. We embraced two days of simple relaxation, exploring the surrounding farms on foot and spending calm afternoons reading at the swimming pool.
Cool Nights, Cozy Sleeps
The nights were pleasantly cool again, requiring us to sleep under our comfortable bags. We were pleased to discover this charming option as a comfortable and convenient alternative for shorter stays.
A Relaxed Checkout and Rural Encounters
On checkout day, we didn’t have to rush. We slept in and did our morning routines separately, running and walking. We were in rural Florida, with farm animals, cows with calves, horses, mules, sheep, and goats roaming freely. The curious goats hurried toward the fence when I tried to photograph them! However, they quickly lost interest when they learned there wasn’t any food for them.
We left for our next Airbnb at noon. Since our new destination was only thirty minutes away, we had some time to spare, so we decided to go grocery shopping instead of checking in first. I stayed in the car, accompanying Hemmes. I did not have to wait a long time. We had to go to another grocery store for fresh produce—a drive that took us back close to where we had started that morning! This time, we got everything we needed.
We arrived at our destination around 2:30 PM, following a dirt road for the last mile. The farm owner warmly welcomed us, along with many dogs, horses, sheep, goats, and pigs. It was wonderful—we were staying in a guest house on an organic farm.
