Our Stay in Soledad, CA
Soledad's Motel Stopover to California Gems
During our travels, we sometimes crash into hotels for a few nights to visit those must-see spots in the area. That led us to Motel 8 in Soledad, CA, our quiet, clean, and comfy base camp for exploring the few gems in the area.

After finishing our leftovers from our previous stay, we refueled with a delicious dinner at the Windmill Restaurant next door. It was perfect since we couldn’t prepare a meal in the hotel. Their portions were generous, so with plenty of leftovers, we conveniently had a new meal waiting for us in the fridge to warm up the following day.
Despite our busy schedule, we also took the time to walk around downtown Soledad on our last day.

We grabbed the chance to grocery shop for some fresh produce at a Spanish store downtown. Aside from paying with American dollars, we could have easily imagined ourselves in a vibrant Spanish or Mexican community, surrounded by friendly, pleasant locals speaking Spanish.

While our stay here was comfy and convenient, after a few days, my stomach started craving my husband’s home-cooked meals. So, my favorite chef and I were excited to be on our way, our car filled with groceries and fresh produce, to a fully equipped kitchen at our next stay in Seaside, CA.
