Quiet Waterfalls at Enders State Forest

Enders Waterfalls at Granby, CT
After our run this morning, we still wanted a short hike without having to drive far away. After reading the recommendations online, we headed to Connecticut’s Enders State Forest in Granby, just a half-hour drive from our hotel. Enders State Forest has been around since the late 1930s, when the Enders family donated the land to the state to preserve its natural beauty. Today, we indeed saw that it is one of Connecticut’s hidden gems.
The hike itself was only about a mile round-trip, but it offered beautiful scenery even when the bright leafage was mainly gone. The trail led to a series of pretty waterfalls, from gentle cascades to higher drops, each one different from the others. The experience felt even more special because there were no other visitors to disturb the quietness. It was precisely the kind of quiet, photogenic place we always look for and need.
