Mammoth Lakes Summer Delights

A Welcoming Start!

Our charming Mammoth Lakes escape began in our cozy studio. The delightful decor and perfect location made it a home base we loved returning to after a day of exploring. It had everything we needed and that extra warmth that made travelers like us feel welcome.

A Delightful Escape to Mammoth Lakes

We were also pleasantly surprised by Mammoth Lakes itself! Unlike other resorts, which are in winter mode year-round, Mammoth Lakes transformed into a charming, vibrant summer destination. Many tourists like us enjoyed summer outdoor activities—hiking, walking, and mountain biking—amidst the magnificent Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Minaret Vista Overlook's Surprise

Leaving Devil’s Postpile National Monument on our last day, the sign for the Minaret Vista Overlook caught our attention. Let’s go; it may be worthwhile. Forget the maybe; it simply was.

.

Minaret Vista offered a scenic overlook with stunning panoramas. We finally got a great view of Mammoth Mountain! The Minarets in the Ritter Range were also fantastic, with their ragged peaks rising into the sky. This was a terrific way to say goodbye to this beautiful part of the world.

Saying Goodbye to Mammoth Lakes Summer Delights

A delightful discovery in town was the bakery called “Bakkerij” Schat. Their Dutch bread and goodies were fantastic, especially their authentic sheepherder bread. We are going to miss their special treats!

As always, a fun-filled week flew by. After exploring Mammoth Lakes, we headed to Oakhurst, CA, on the west side of Yosemite National Park. But not before expressing gratitude to the lovely, welcoming studio where we stayed!
