Our Airbnb & Downtown Yacolt
Driving to and Checking-in!
The cottage in Yacolt was warm and welcoming. The owners lived close by; still, we had enough privacy. We enjoyed our new home after unpacking and covering everything with our sheets. Hemmes also settled quickly and seemed to love his new home.

We didn’t go for a walk after unpacking and instead relaxed on the comfortable couch, watching television and enjoying a nice glass of wine.

Exploring Downtown Yacolt
After lunch at home, we walked downtown Yacolt to walk some miles and to take pictures of the small town. The main attraction was the heritage railroad, the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad. Due to COVID it was closed.

After our failed attempt to visit and hike Mount St. Helens Volcanic National Monument, we took a short walk in the neighborhood late in the afternoon—our last walk in these beautiful surroundings. We were ready and excited to continue our journey to familiar places and friends we love: West Linn, Oregon, one of the suburbs of Portland, Oregon.
