A Relaxing Start to Our US Adventure

We flew back from the Netherlands on March 20th, 2024, and landed smoothly in Portland, Oregon. Our wonderful son and baby grandson picked us up at the airport. After a quick grocery shopping stop, we headed to our home away from home – the Extended Stay in Vancouver, Washington. Our room at Extended Stay was a pleasant surprise! It was spacious and comfortable, providing the perfect base for the upcoming days. Our superstar traveler, Hemmes, immediately settled for a nap after the long flight, curled up in his favorite travel blanket.

That evening, we enjoyed a delicious home-cooked dinner at our son and daughter-in-law’s apartment. It was a heartwarming way to reconnect with them after our time apart. We left early since it had been a long day. All around, our four-day stay in Vancouver, Washington, was a delightful mix of spending quality time with family, nature walks, unwinding after a long flight, and getting used to the new time zone.
