Driving Back Home Again
Road Trip 2008 - Day 13
.
Driving Back Home!
Again we had a long day of driving ahead. We left the Beaver Lake Campground in Custer, SD, at 8 am, and almost two hours later, we entered Badlands National Park, a 244,000-acre park. We drove the Sage Creek Rim Road through a surreal, beautiful, unique landscape before entering HW I-90.
We were advised to visit the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD, a must-see! We expected a palace to look different. However, we weren’t disappointed with the fantastic artwork made with various colored corn cobs; the visit was well worth our detour.
Our drive continued for another few hours until we reached our Best Western Hotel in Lincoln. We made it an early night to be ready for another long driving day driving home.
