Flying to the States Again

A Long Day of Traveling

Friday, September 30, 2022, we left home just before 7 am, taking the bus to Schiphol. Just two hours later, we sat at the gate. We boarded on time, but then we had to wait 2.5 hours before taking off due to a technical issue. Even with the delay, Hemmes, patiently waiting in his carrier at Schiphol, demonstrated his traveling experience. He only gets restless when it is time to change his towel in the carrier.
Ofcourse, we missed our connecting flight from Chicago O’Hare to Sioux Falls. Thankfully, it was rearranged, and around 9.30 pm, we landed. The kids picked us up, and within two hours, we were in our bed. It had been a long day.

New Beginnings

This was the first and last time we would fly into Sioux Falls, SD. Our son accepted a new position in Hillsboro, OR, and coincidentally, that is the town where hubby and I lived for a couple of years. They are going to love it there!

.

So, instead of only visiting, we also helped for a few days by making the house ready to put up on the market. It was rewarding to support our kids prepare their home for the next chapter of their lives.

And A New Traveling Adventure Awaits

On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, we said goodbye to our son and daughter-in-law (and bid farewell to Watertown, SD). We drove about 450 miles through Iowa and Missouri and arrived around 4:30 pm at Sure Stay Hotel Best Western in Kearney, Missouri.

Thankfully, we had a smooth drive this time! In January, we had a slippery road and limited vision due to snow and salt. Today, I enjoyed the view of changing fall colors.

Our fellow traveler enjoyed the ride while purring and relaxing in his carrier! He knows the drill by now.
