Olympic National Park - Hurricane Ridge Area
The Dry Side of Olympic NP
It was the third time we visited Olympic National Park. Over the years, we’ve been to the Hoh River area with its huge trees twice. This was the first time we saw the rainshadow side of the park. The dry Hurricane Ridge part of the park is just 40 miles from the Hoh rainforest, so it has an entirely different look and feel.
We walked a few short trails near the Hurricane Ridge Visitors Center before starting the longer, more challenging Hurricane Hill Trail. The rail was paved. Our climbs uphill were steep. However, it was definitely worth it. The panoramic views at the top of the mountain were absolutely stunning! As well as the beautiful wildlife that apparently thrives here!
