I already heard about the nature-friendly “mowers” but saw them for the first time today. This herd of 270 sheep and dozens of lambs grazes in the green zone along the A2 from the Wielerbaan near Galecop to Oudegein Park.
They sustainably cut the grass (since there are no machines needed), providing city residents with a nature experience and stimulating the city’s flora and fauna.
After a few years, the plants, grasses, and insect species have become more diverse while containing the invasive hogweed and annoying nettles.
