The Falls at East Fork Lewis River

The East Fork Lewis River is well-known for featuring beautiful waterfalls. We explored three well-known and easily accessible waterfalls: Sunset Falls, Moulton Falls, and Lucia Falls.

The Moulton Falls Did Not Dissappoint!

The first fall we visited, the Moulton Falls, did not disappoint. It is a beautiful fall with deep teal-blue water. We hiked along the river, starting in Moulton Falls Park.

The Moulton Falls bridge is also gorgeous, by the way!

The first one, Moulton Falls, did not disappoint. It is a beautiful fall with deep teal-blue water. We hiked along the river, starting in Moulton Falls Park.

A Short Walk in Lucia Falls Park

Although it was drizzling, we went to Lucia Falls Park to stretch our legs. Since we were the only visitors, the green park felt serene. The Lucia Falls is dramatic, creating powerful rolling waves along huge boulders.
I love viewing the falling water and hearing only the sound of rushing water in the background. I played with my camera and tripod and allowed long shutter times. I love the effect it creates in the picture!

Visiting Sunset Falls

Our destination today was Sunset Campground in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. A short trail led us to the last of the area’s three falls, Sunset Falls, which we visited briefly. As it was the only trail, our visit was short.

A Farewell to the Falls!

We walked about 9 miles from the Moulton Waterfalls to Lucia Waterfalls and back on our last visit to the East Fork Lewis Rivier. We said our goodbyes, knowing that we would continue our travels the next day.

I love waterfalls, their sound, and their energy, and I will surely miss our hikes along the Lewis River in this beautiful part of Washington State.
