West Seattle, WA, and Lincoln Park, WA

West Seattle and Lincoln Park

We continued our traveling to West Seattle, WA, on the west coast. Our Airbnb was in the small Fauntleroy neighborhood, known as one of the best places to live in Washington State. We definitely agreed. We loved being close to the Puget Sound waterfront and the beautiful Lincoln Park.
The park with its tall trees was our go-to spot for daily hikes, walks, or runs—whether early morning, lunchtime, or late evening. The waterfront views were stunning, and the sunsets were unforgettable. We loved watching the Olympic Mountains across Puget Sound. Sometimes, we’d sit on a bench and watch the busy ferry come and go at West Seattle.

Toxic Air ...

For a few days, we couldn’t go outside because the air was dangerously polluted by wildfires. It wasn’t safe to breathe the toxic air. The sky turned yellow in the middle of the day, creating an eerie feeling like the world was ending.

So, on September 25th, I checked out a bit earlier to stay a couple of days with my son and daughter-in-law in Auburn, WA. Here, the air was much better, so I could walk around with the dog and prepare my trip. Before I knew it, our catgirl Bollie and I were on our way to Seattle International Airport for our direct flight back to the Netherlands. We were excited to see my husband and Hemmes again, who had flown back a few weeks earlier to prepare our new apartment.
